Tak-It-EZ Pool & Spa › Repair & equipment
Pumps, filters, heaters, salt cells, automation, and leaks. Diagnosed first, quoted before we touch anything.

Bearings, a shaft seal, or air getting in at the lid or a fitting. Catch it before the motor burns out.
Loaded cartridge, torn pleat, or a filter that's undersized for the pool. Common after a windy week.
Low flow, igniter or flame sensor, high-limit switch, or gas supply. Age and heat exchanger condition decide repair vs. replace.
Calcium scale on the plates is the usual cause in hard water. Sometimes it's the flow sensor or the cell reaching end of life.
A pool losing more than the bucket test allows has a leak somewhere: plumbing, light niche, skimmer, or shell. We find it and fix it.
Relays, sensors, and boards on Pentair and Jandy automation; suction, pressure-side, and robotic cleaners.
Call, text, or send a repair request with what you're seeing. Even "it's making a noise" helps us bring the right parts.
Pressure, flow, electrical, and a look at the whole pad, not just the part that's complaining. Often one failure is a symptom of another.
You get the price and the reasoning before anything is replaced. If it's a replace-not-repair situation, we say so and show you the options.
Repair, run it, and walk you through what was done and what to watch for.
| Equipment | Usually repair | Usually replace |
|---|---|---|
| Pump | Seal, lid o-ring, capacitor, or a single bad bearing on a newer pump | Burned motor, or a failed single-speed pump over about 1 HP (California efficiency rules mean the replacement is variable-speed) |
| Filter | Cartridge cleaning, o-rings, gauge, air relief | Cracked tank, torn or collapsed cartridges, or a filter that's too small for the pool |
| Heater | Igniter, flame sensor, high-limit, pressure switch on a unit under 10 years | Failing heat exchanger, corroded burner tray, or a unit past 10 to 12 years |
| Salt cell | Acid cleaning to remove scale; flow sensor | Plates worn through at the end of the cell's life |
| Automation | Relays, sensors, transformer | Board failures on discontinued systems where parts are no longer made |
We're an authorized warranty service center for Pentair, Jandy, and Hayward, so a warranty claim comes to our counter instead of a shipping label. Bring the unit or the claim to 8450 Tamarind Ave, Unit A.
The part is often already on the shelf at the store, which saves a second trip.
When a part is past saving, or you want to upgrade before it fails, we install new equipment: variable-speed pumps, cartridge and DE filters, gas and heat-pump heaters, salt systems, automation, and robotic or pressure-side cleaners. We sell it at the counter and our own techs install it, not a subbed-out crew.
Pentair and Jandy automation, salt chlorinators, and app control. Installed, programmed, and explained before we leave.
Repair on suction, pressure, and robotic cleaners, and new units matched to your pool's shape and debris.
Yes, every time. We diagnose on site, tell you what's wrong and what it costs to fix, and you decide. Nobody replaces a part without your OK.
Usually not. A screaming or grinding pump is most often a failing bearing or a seal that's let water into the motor. Sometimes it's just air getting in at the lid or a fitting. It's worth looking at before the motor cooks itself.
In California, yes, and in most cases you have to: state efficiency rules mean replacement pool pumps are variable-speed. The good news is they cut the electric bill noticeably, and they're quieter.
Leaves, dust, algae, and fine debris load the filter, and a Santa Ana wind event can add several PSI overnight. A cartridge that won't come clean or has a torn pleat needs replacing. A DE or sand filter that won't hold pressure after a backwash has its own set of causes we can check.
Common causes are low water flow (dirty filter, closed valve), a bad igniter or flame sensor, a tripped high-limit, or gas supply. Heaters over 10 to 12 years old with a failing heat exchanger are usually a replace, not a repair. We'll tell you which.
The bucket test tells you: set a bucket of pool water on a step, mark both levels, and compare after 24 hours with the pump off. If the pool drops faster than the bucket, call us.
Yes. Salt cells, flow sensors, control boards, and automation systems like Pentair and Jandy. Hard water scales salt cells, so they need cleaning on a schedule.
Both. Pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, automation, and cleaners. We sell it at the counter and our own techs install it, quoted as one number.

Was referred by another pool supply store. Joe helped me diagnose and repair a faulty wet end for my spa. Friendly, helpful and experienced. I'll drive the 20 minutes, no problem. AND they open on Sunday!
Ivan at Tak-it-EZ was a lifesaver! My friend is a recent widow and I'm helping her navigate unfamiliar tasks like maintaining her in-ground pool. Ivan patiently answered my many questions and provided useful information, even five minutes to closing. I wish I had called Tak-It-EZ Pool & Spa first. Excellent service!
This place is the pool place! They know everything about any pool. Great experience every time I go there.
